Happy Birthday to Me

Thanks to everyone who remembered and made me feel ultra-loved: Fish, Zhen, Ade, Siew Chin, Poh Nai, Gloria, Jimmy, Debbie, Grace, Pris, and OCF-ers....

Hubby planned the b-day surprise ploy to the detail. I did not suspect a thing. (I love you!)

Ploy 1: We were having dinner at Sizzler and a waitress appeared with a bouquet of lilies.

Ploy 2: I thought we were catching State of Origin (Queensland vs NSW..and we won! woo-hoo!) at Tiffany's place..but turned out to be a surprise party by the OCF-ers. Really touched that they came...because few of them are having exams tomorrow.

My New Toy

Bought a birthday present for myself today.

A Nintendo DS Lite! And a pink one! Nice leh??

Hee..I told hubby that I am a gamer now too. And to show his support, hubby bought me 4 games to start with - got 2 brain-teaser games (yes, I need to improve brain power), 1 Nintendog, and 1 Yoshi game. And he said he will buy me all my games in future. Haha....I like.

And now to introduce my pet dog...Sunny!

He is a little golden retriever (my dream dog) and very friendly. And he loves back-rubs. I played blowing bubbles with him (yah...blow into the screen to make bubbles..very fun) and took him for walks. Hubby say I look so funny talking to the DS. Obviously this is one game that I cannot play in the public lah.

Sudden

Temperatures dropped suddenly, and you know winter is finally here.

After two days of rain (TV say it was the heaviest downpour in Australia for the last 3 years..but seemed so normal to me), I woke up to freezing floors this morning.

I'm wearing my trackpants and sweater now. On my feet are my cute hippo bedroom slippers. The fan has retired today and out came the heater.

Soon, more layers of clothing will come....SIANZ.

Sad

No mood today. Later go bake banana cake. Hope will lift my spirits a little.

Motivated to work even harder for the exam. I have to. This is the second time I got just a passing grade. Abit demoralising. But still thank God that I passed. Have to admit was abit sloppy for this assignment. So probably the grade reflected the effort. Another 30% to go - last chance.

Piang eh...the DJs keep talking about eating dumplings (Ba Zhang 肉粽)...this is one thing that is beyond my current culinary skills. OK. This will have to be one of my must-eats when I go back...Argh....in another 6 months!!

Now is 9.30am in Brisbane. The sky outside looks promising. Maybe will rain later. Hope will rain later. This type of weather...no mood to study leh!

Bro going into NS on Thurs. He really grow up liao ah. And suddenly I have been worried about this new phase of his life. Wonder if he will pick up any bad habits in camp, wonder if he will get use to the life in camp, wonder if he will meet good instructors, wonder if he will be able to take the tough training....if I am thinking like that...I guess Mum must be having sleepless nights....Haha...but she will be going with Bro to the jetty on Thurs. Tearful farewell? Hee....maybe.
