Makes It All Worth It

I told a regular customer that I will not be seeing her on her next visit..because my last official day at work is next Mon. She gave me a big hug.
I was surprised...yet thankful. Thankful for really nice colleagues and mostly nice customers. This customer was actually my first "complaint" customer. It's a miracle how I salvaged the relationship, she became a regular and we became sort of friends. Only God can make this happen.
Looking forward to meeting more regulars at my new workplace.

It's Over

The dreaded weekend intensive course is finally over.
What's left is our presentation on 19 May, individual essay and exam.
With less than 5 hours of lecture for the entire course, I wonder how tough the exam will be. The international students all felt cheated...pay so much, get so little. But well, what else can we do? We could only give a low low rating during the course evaluation. If anyone really looks at those evaluation, that is.
Good thing is, we managed to negotiate the exam coverage from 20 chapters down to 10 chapters. As the co-lecturer said, it's a 50% discount.

When is the Best Time?

XX is going to be a Dad in Aug.
YY is going to be a Mum in Sep.
ZZ & AA are going to be a Mums in Nov.
I wonder who else will make the rank of parent-hood this year.
If all goes well and by God's grace, hopefully we will see Zachary Ong in 2009.

Where to kill THE CRAVE

I live in Toowong.
I like eating @ Two-Wongs Asian Food at the foodcourt opposite my place.
Because they can cook (nearly) authentic singapore food!
I've tried the chrispy chicken rice, mee goreng, hor fun and fried rice. All nearly 90% just as good.
Thank God for Two-Wongs! Heee......

Saw this photo while I was looking through the digital photos archival. I took it in 2002. Reminded me of a photo I saw recently........

Today all the eggs went on 50% sale. I guess tomorrow will probably sell at even lower prices. (:

TMNP?

No, not the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT).

They are "The Mutated Nasty Potatoes" (TMNP). I left them in the basket for 3 weeks and see what they've become! Eeeks!

You are Awesome!

I'm starting training on Wed morning.
Yes, I got the job (nearly). Have to pass the training period first.
God is awesome. Truly.

Happy Easter?

Today is Good Friday. Most shops are closed till next Tue. Just like CNY period back home.
What do people think of this Good Friday and Easter holidays? Parties with bunnies, eggs and chocolates. We went to the supermarket last night and everyone in the queue, and I mean everyone, was holding either boxes of chocolates, bunnies or eggs. Except the 2 of us lah.
No one seemed to care about the true meaning of Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Everything has been commercialised into a season of long break from work, getting drunk in parties and spending loads of money on chocolate eggs and bunnies.
Even churches here are taking breaks during this period and going on retreats, camps etc. So different from the "atmosphere" back home, where services will be held to share with pre-believers on the significance of Good Friday.
How will people know when they do not see, do not hear and do not care about what really happened?

Interview...Again

Just came back from an interview.
Seemed kinda funny..coz it's my first interview in nearly 7 years. OMG...
For the past 7 years I've been with the same company...always interviewing people, but now I'm sitting on the other side of the table, being interviewed.
Thank God it went quite well. The potential employer was very friendly and I was able to relate to their business because their operations seemed similar to what I'm doing now. She will let me know by Sun if I get the job. There are 2 other "competitors". Whatever the outcome, I'm already happy that I went for the interview. At last I met an employer that did not discriminate against me because I'm Asian. And from what she described, I'm more comfortable with the way they do business. Honest and care for the customers.
So I shall wait....and see. Pray with me.
