Those Goondoo Days were the Best
They're tearing down the National Stadium soon. The place that held so many dear memories and invokes so many more...
During Cedar days, we used to go to the stadium with such pride. Because our track & field and band girls will always do us proud by winning the competitions held there. Whenever we reign as double champions in the "B" and "C" divisions of the national schools' track and fields' meet, we will sing our song, cheer our cheers, run around the stadium with those mega mega banners. That's not all, we will cheer from national stadium all the way to the kallang mrt station (and while waiting for train...).
The days of trying to break the Gusiness World record for highest pyramid built with drink cans and rumaging through dustbins along East Coast Park and coffeeshops just to collect the cans.....
The days of practicing and leading cheers at the school track before an important competition to cheer our comrades on...
The days of rushing out from classrooms (and the teachers too) when the band girls do their final outdoor band display at the track to cheer them on..
The days of staying back in school and making those gigantic banners...and eating chicken rice that our dear principal bought...
The days of sitting at the track every Wed (or issit Fri) morning after assembly and read newspaper to improve our English...
The days of running round the track every alternate day after morning assembly..it's compulsory for everyone!
The days of changing from PE attire to proper uniform in the classroom....
Just too much to go on and on...so many memories...but such a pity that most of us are not in touch anymore. I wonder what has happened to my classmates. I know some of them are happily married, in a relationship or simply enjoying their singlehood. Those days that are filled with camaraderie, high spirits and pride.
Yes, those goondoo days were the best.

Unite Cedarians unite,We’ll perservere all the way,
Make sure our torch is burning bright,Courteous, honest everyday,
Forever loyal ‘ever true,For Cedar our best we’ll do.
Excel in work and in games,Always strive for greater fame,
Hold high the banner gold an’ grey,Progress we must all the way,
Forever loyal ‘ever true,For Cedar our best we’ll do.
The future beckons us on,Full of promises beyond,
Though fears and dangers still abound,With strength and grit we’ll surmount,
Forever loyal ‘ever true,For Cedar our best we’ll do.
Chorus:To Cedar Girls’ School we belong,
With pride and love let’s sing this song,
Let us unite and together vow,
To dedicate our loyalty now.
