Polyclinic Woes

3 hours is a long wait. Considering that my total consultation time with the doc is less than 10 mins.

I reached the polyclinic at 8.15am. A nice nurse greeted me at the entrance and directed me to the pre-registration counter. I thought that was a nice service. But my impression soon took a drastic downfall.

I got registered (after 20 mins) and went up to the doctor's room. I spent another 1 hour 15 mins just waiting to see the doctor. The doctor asked me some routine questions after listening to my "problem" - and directed me to another room.

I waited another 30 mins before a nurse attended to me. Then she said the service I reqeusted is not available. Need to refer me to hospital. She asked me to wait outside the doctor's room again while they write the letter. And I waited. For a whole hour.

I cannot tahan the wait anymore, so I "barged" into the room after a patient came out. The doctor said the letter is already ready at another counter. I gave her the look of irritation and disbelief - this means I've waited for 1 hour for nothing. All she could say is sorry. Really hor. This kind of service, is just ridiculous. Actually I was prepared to wait the moment I stepped into the polyclinic lah. I even brought a book to read. But the fact that they did not really know their jobs, pushed me from 1 unit to another and worse, did not tell me where to go and made me waited in vain - is simply unbearable.

Polyclinics are out for me. I'd rather pay more and stick to my private GP.
