True Beauty
Attended a beauty workshop conducted by Jill Lowe today. Have long heard of her and her image consulting skills, but this is my first encounter with her. Boy, she was entertaining! Everything she shared just struck a chord somewhere in our everyday lives.
More importantly, she shared what is it like to have true beauty. God created us in his own image. So says the bible "God created Man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them" (Gen 1:27). Hey, we're made in God's image. How can we not be beautiful?
Beauty is NOT only skin-deep. It's who we are inside. Like Jill shared, "the cute cute fat fat short short ones" - men also like! But being beautiful inside does not give women the excuse to dress sloppily or not care about their physical beauty. Our boyfriends to-be, boyfriends, husbands are attracted by pretty things. We have to be attractive to them physically, or else, they will be attracted by other women. Being beautiful need not mean alot of time. It just takes more understanding about our body shape, our colour tones and the accessories, clothes that bring out the best (not our worst) in us. (Wow, I sound like a pro now after a 3-hour workshop)
And I think I belong to the "Summer" tone - I look best in pastels. And we went to Orchard just now to verify our findings. Hee..we had a fun time putting different shades of colours to our faces and see what's nicest on us.
